Flower tea retains the exact shape of the flower, which is what makes it premium.

When browsing product pages for flower tea, you may notice some are priced much higher or lower than others. Just as leaf teas are categorized as premium based on how intact the leaves are, flower teas vary significantly in price depending on whether the flowers retain their shape and color after drying.

Although Tavalon is not as old or traditional as some British tea brands, its blends are nonetheless exceptional.

🍡

Today, I selected the Royal Chamomile, a tea known for its calming effects on both body and mind.

What sets Tavalon’s Royal Chamomile apart is the lively appearance of the whole flowers and the well-designed, generously-sized tea bags. The experience is as much about the aroma as it is about watching the flowers bloom in the water, filling the cup with a soft yellow hue.

From the moment I picked up the tea bag until the last sip, I had no unpleasant moments with this tea.

Being a caffeine-free herbal tea, it's perfect for any time of day—whether it's late at night, first thing in the morning, or any moment in between. You can steep it as long as you like, typically about 8 minutes in boiling water, though leaving the tea bag in longer enhances the flavor of the dried flowers.

🍡

Even without adding honey, the natural sweetness of chamomile comes through. However, if you're in the mood for a sweeter or more comforting experience, a touch of honey works wonderfully.

The biodegradable tea bags are large enough to let the flowers dance as they infuse the water. While it's not as vividly yellow as Ronnefeldt's Chamomile, which almost seems artificially colored, Tavalon’s Royal Chamomile still fills the cup with a beautiful golden tone.

Unlike Ronnefeldt’s chamomile, where the shape of the leaves is more prominent, Tavalon’s Royal Chamomile lets you appreciate the true beauty of the flower itself.

I’ve enjoyed tea in various cups and with different desserts, but I eventually settled on one favorite cup to fully appreciate the subtle variations in flavor that come from the water and tea plantation. Watching the tea pour into my favorite gold-rimmed glass cup is as satisfying as the drinking itself.

🍡

As the name suggests, Royal Chamomile by Tavalon boasts a rich aroma and a clean, natural chamomile taste.

Some chamomile teas can be overly sweet, but this one leans more toward a pure, uncluttered flavor. Every time I brew it, I’m amazed at how the vibrant natural colors of the flowers emerge without any artificial additives.

While chrysanthemum tea remains my favorite, there is a whole world of flower teas yet to explore. Chamomile may be more common, but each brand offers its own unique take, making it a joy to compare.

If you’re sensitive to caffeine and looking for a tea to enjoy in the evening, I highly recommend Tavalon’s Royal Chamomile.

From the neatly folded tea bag to the pure flavor, every detail is crafted with care.
