There’s no better brand to enjoy Sri Lankan Ceylon tea than Basilur.

Basilur has a tea room, so it’s quite accessible if you want to browse or pick up some tea bags. They offer both green tea-based and black tea-based varieties, and their milk tea is absolutely delightful.

I highly recommend trying the milk tea if you visit their tea room—it pairs perfectly with the cakes they serve.

🍂

Today, I decided to enjoy some Basilur Uva.
Uva tea comes from high-grown tea leaves, cultivated at altitudes above 1,800 meters in cool temperatures and abundant rainfall. Sri Lankan teas are renowned for their high quality, and Uva is no exception. It’s often described as having a soft, floral aroma with a strong punch.

After boiling water to 100 degrees, I poured it into my teacup, already anticipating the color it would reveal. Uva has a rich, dark red hue rather than a bright one, which gives it a mature, sophisticated appeal. I steeped the tea bag lightly for no more than three minutes—since Sri Lankan Ceylon tea leaves are finely ground, they extract flavor more quickly than full-leaf teas.

As the tea brewed, I noticed how gentle the fragrance was. Sri Lanka’s diverse terrain, ranging from highlands to lowlands, creates an incredible variety of tea flavors. This diversity is immediately apparent when drinking Basilur black teas. The quality is consistently world-class, and every sip makes me wonder how it could taste so good.

🍂

Today’s experience with Basilur’s Uva was just as impressive.
The flavor was smooth yet deep, mild yet impactful.

How can a tea leave such a lasting impression while remaining so delicate in aroma? Each sip was refined, without any unnecessary complexity—just pure elegance.

Considering the quality of the tea leaves and the luxurious packaging, Basilur offers a very reasonable price. Their music box tin cases and book-shaped tins are beautifully designed and functional as well. Basilur doesn’t just sell affordable tea—they offer premium-quality tea leaves, beautifully presented, at a price that feels fair.

The Uva I drank today was so exquisite that I can’t find the right words or metaphors to describe it.

🍂

It was a tea moment that felt elegant, but with a twist that defied my expectations.

It’s the kind of tea that draws you fully into the present moment. It was, truly, a deeply satisfying experience.

If you’re considering trying Basilur tea, I highly recommend starting with Uva. It’s subtle, stylish, and unforgettable.
